K.Y. Lee is Chairman of BenQ. Lee first started his career at Acer Group and was in 1991 transferred to Acer Peripherals as President. In 2000， Acer Peripherals became Acer Communications and Multimedia （ACM）， reflecting Lee’s vision for the company’s strategic move from a peripherals company to a communications， optical and multimedia powerhouse. In 2001， ACM adopted the name BenQ to better reflect its focus on ‘Bringing Enjoyment and Quality to Life’ and integrating technologies with modern digital lifestyles. In 2005， BenQ has accumulated industry insight to further solidify its 3C strengths and brand prowess in hopes to launch the BenQ brand onto the world stage.
In 2007， for faster and stronger growth onward， BenQ Corp. has separated its branded and manufacturing business to focus on the BenQ branded business， for continued expansion and success in the 3C and networked and digital convergence fields. Under Lee's leadership， BenQ's ranked among the world's top networked digital lifestyle product providers and established as a cheerful and trendy hi-tech electronics brand name among all consumers.
Lee holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University and an MBA degree from the International Institute for Management Development （IMD） in Lausanne， Switzerland.
