William J. P. Lawton

Mr. Lawton has over 30 years of global finance and investment experience.He founded Seagate to focus on global alternative investment strategies and the development of Asia. Mr. Lawton chairs Seagate’s investment committee and now focuses on investment research， strategy and Seagate’s direct investment activities. He was the first CEO and a Director of SeaBright Asset Management， Ltd.， where he conceived and launched the SeaBright China Special Opportunities Fund I. He is now working as an adviser to a development group in the Philippines， and is a Director of CITIC Capital Management in HK. Prior to founding Seagate， Mr. Lawton held senior level positions managing money at Trust Company of the West （SVP）， Nikko Capital Management （CIO）， Wells Fargo Bank （FI， VP）， and Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company.

Mr. Lawton received his MBA in Finance from Columbia University，an MA in International Economics from the Monterey Institute，and a BA in Economics from UC Berkeley.
