Marc Lau received the GIC Overseas Scholarship and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with Honors and Distinction from Stanford University. Marc Lau was formerly an Associate at GIC Special Investments in the Global Strategy and Investment Group. While at GSIG, Marc assisted the Asia Private Equity Group and the North America Private Equity Group in making investments in funds as well as companies. After leaving GIC SI in June 2004, Marc attended Harvard Business School and interned for Danaher Corporation (NYSE:DHR) where he was involved in the negotiations and closing of a joint-venture agreement between Jacobs Vehicle Systems (a subsidiary of Danaher Corporation) and a Chinese auto-parts manufacturer. He was subsequently retained as Danaher’s representative and appointed Deputy General Manager of the new company where he led the critical first year start-up and managed the greenfield transition of a multi-million dollar product line to China. He was responsible for P&L and all aspects of daily management, including Operations, Supply Chain, Quality (ISO/TS), Finance, IT and HR and has successfully transitioned the business to a local team he helped recruit. Marc is now the investment director of Axiom Asia.
