Mohammed Zaidi joined Martin Currie in 2010 from SWIP, where he was investment director on the global emerging markets desk. As portfolio manager, he was lead manager of the firm’s Shariah mandates and co‐manager of the balanced global-emerging-markets mandates. As sector analyst, he was responsible for stocks across the industrials and materials sectors. Before that, Mohammed was a senior analyst at Principal Global Investors with a regional emphasis on Asia. Earlier, he was a portfolio co‐manager at Lexington Global Asset Management. He began his career in 1997 at VZB Capital in New York, where he analysed stocks for its global-emerging-markets hedge fund. He is a CFA charterholder and has an MBA from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Mohammed speaks fluent Arabic and Urdu.
