John F. Bookout

John F. Bookout （Houston） joined KKR in 2008 and is a Managing Director of the Firm. At KKR， Mr. Bookout has played a leading role in the Firm’s investment in East Resources and announced investment in Hilcorp Resources. He is a senior member of the Firm’s Energy and Infrastructure practices. Mr. Bookout currently serves on the boards of East Resources， Hilcorp Resources， and McDermott International. Prior to joining KKR， he was a Director of McKinsey & Company for 28 years. Most recently he was responsible for their 17 global industry practices. During his career with McKinsey， Mr. Bookout spent six years as Managing Partner of its Los Angeles office and four years in London where he led McKinsey's European Energy Practice. Mr. Bookout also served as Managing Partner of McKinsey’s Texas Office， as co-leader of the North American Energy Practice and as a member of McKinsey’s Shareholder's Committee. He holds an M.B.A. from Stanford University Graduate School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Rice University. Mr. Bookout is also actively involved with a number of non-profit organizations， including serving as a board member of the Baylor College of Medicine.
