Rory Read

Rory Read is President and COO of Lenovo Group Limited. Mr. Read’s role focuses on Lenovo’s management system and the day-to-day operation of the business processes.

Before joining Lenovo， Mr. Read had a successful 23-year career at IBM， where he held numerous key executive positions. Most recently he was managing partner for the Global Industrial Sector of Business Consulting Services. In that role， he was responsible for global sales and delivery execution of the Industrial Sector’s consulting services business， driving significant growth in customer satisfaction， business signings， revenue and profit. Mr. Read’s leadership roles have focused on transforming organizations into Internet-focused businesses. This includes serving as executive of Global Business Transformation and Information Technology for IBM’s $45 billion Global Services business. He also was vice president， IBM e-business Transformation IBM.com， where he was responsible for defining and implementing the IBM.com e-business strategy and execution， a business team that produced more than $1 billion in company-wide savings and $21 billion in sales.

Mr. Read worked in IBM’s Asia Pacific region as general manager of Business Innovation Services （BIS） for Asia Pacific and vice president of Global BIS Industrial Sector. In these roles， Mr. Read achieved double-digit growth in year-to-year business as well as the successful integration of Asia Pacific Business Consulting Services. Mr. Read has a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems from Hartwick College.
