Guy Harles is a founding partner of Arendt & Medernach law firm and serves as head of the Firm’s Private Equity industry group. He also is a member of the firm’s management board and responsible for International Development & Strategy. He specialises in corporate work， where he advises on the structuring of international transactions， private equity investments， corporate reorganisations， mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance. He frequently serves as an arbitrator.
He was president of the Luxembourg Young Bar Association from 1990 to 1991. He served on the Luxembourg Bar Council from 1992 to 1994 and was elected Vice-President of the same in 2009. He was also the President of AIJA （International Young Lawyers' Association） from 1995 to 1996. He presently serves as the president of the Luxembourg Association for Arbitration and Euroarbitrage. He was a reader on business law at the Centre Universitaire de Luxembourg， the Faculty of Law （University of Luxembourg） and Université Louis Pasteur （Strasbourg） from 1981 to 2007.
Prior to joining the Luxembourg Bar he worked in the finance department of Arbed S.A. （now part of ArcelorMittal）， the Luxembourg steel conglomerate. Guy Harles holds a Master's degree in law from the Université Robert Schuman de Strasbourg （France）， as well as an advanced degree （DESS in banking and finance） from the same university.
