Yujiang Zhao is an economics graduate of Oxford University. Madam Zhao has served at the leading edge of China’s commercial and economic development throughout her career, starting as one of the first Chinese citizens to be sent abroad to garner the skills for developing the country’s economy. She worked for seven years as a member of the committee established to advise the PRC government on policies for liberalisation of the Chinese economy, and was instrumental in guiding economic policy and the transformation of the State-controlled economy into a market-oriented one. After leaving the public sector Madam Zhao led the entry of the first Western stockbrokerage firm into China and with it managed the underwriting of 21 listings of Chinese companies in nine years. As Senior Investment Manager for Mahon China, Madam Zhao has responsibility for deal flow strategy and investment structuring and negotiation. She also serves on the boards of JPMorgan Chinese Investment Trust Plc. and Boshi Fund Management Co. Ltd.
